If you're looking to put some Christmas Spirit back into your life, visit our Rockville Hometown Holidays, November 30 and December 1 and 2. We guarantee you carols, Santa, shopping, arts and crafts, a live Nativity re-enactment, a Christmas Home Tour and more shopping. Rockville lies directly west of Indianapolis on U.S. 36 and is home to the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival. Come for the day, come for the weekend, you'll be glad you did! The historic one hundred year old Ritz Theatre, downtown, will be showing a Christmas movie on Friday, November 30 at 7 p.m. and on Saturday, December 1 at 4 & 7 p.m. On Sunday, December 2, Parke Players will offer their annual Christmas Play, this year presenting "The Nutcracker" at 2 and 5 p.m. Always a real treat, Parke County's youngest thespians shine in these yearly productions. Just across the street from the Ritz Theatre you will find the "Santa's Li'l Secret" Shoppe open Saturday, December 1 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday December 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Goodies galore, crafts, gifts and "stuff" for your shopping pleasure. Clark's Reception Hall will feature their Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, December 1 as well. The courthouse square located on U.S. 36 will be the site for the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 1. There will be carolers, Santa will be on site and Mrs. Claus and the Elves will be on hand in the Hot Chocolate House from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Santa will be on hand from 5 to 6:30 p.m. This will be your opportunity to tell the jolly old guy what you want under your tree this year. Also, on December 1, the Rockville Public Library will be offering Santa and his Elves decorating cookies and coloring Christmas Pictures from 10 to 11:30 a.m. This is a real treat for young children. This day, Saturday December 1, is perhaps the highlight of the Covered Bridge Art Association's yearly activities as they present their annual Christmas Home Tour. Tour hours are 1 to 6 p.m. with tickets available at the Art Gallery on the square in Rockville. If you need tickets or have questions call 756-569-9422.
