MY HUSBAND AND I STUMBLED ACROSS PARK COUNT AND ITS' COVERED BRIDGES 3 YEARS AGO. WE TRIED TO FIND ALL 32 BRIDGES. IT WAS LIKE BEING ON A SCAVANGER HUNT. WE HAVE BEEN BACK SEVERAL TIMES SENCE. Hello!
I want to start by letting you know how blessed I think you all are for being able to live in such a beautiful part of the United States. I have been attending the C.B. festival for several years now and look forward to it every year. The first year I went, I went with one friend and stayed in a hotel. All of the years following I have tent camped at Turkey Run. The group I now bring with me has increased to 12 and five dogs. My group is expected to be even larger this year! In this regard, I have five questions for you. 1)If I was to travel to Parke County during a non-festival time, would all of the same shops, sites, etc. be open, or are they just open during the fetivals? 2)Do you have any suggestions for tent camping sites during the C.B. fetival that might be a little less crowded then Turkey Run, but still offer trails/ canoe / running water, etc.? 3) I am never able to complete all of the trails when I visit, due to a lack of time. Thus, I was wondering, are there are any new attractions that I should be sure not to miss? 4)Where can I obtain the most complete information about the other events that you hold during the year? For example, the Craft Demo Day and the Christmas Festival etc.? and lastly, 5)What is the best way to purchase to anniversary pin, cookbook, etc. and how much do they cost?
Whew! I realize that I have asked a lot of different things and that it will take you some time to answer it all. But know that I deeply appreciate your effort.

Your atmosphere is so neat! I recently visited to paint on-site at the bridges with a group of friends. We stayed at the Bridgeton Guest House and enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of Lynn & Don Payne. I had a great time, enjoyed the sites, (AND THE FOOD!) the Civil War Re-enactment at Billie Creek Village, and took in the all of the wonderful feelings Bridgeton brought.

I am so glad that I was able to find out information about the Covered Bridge Festival on the Internet. We went to Bridgeton last year and that was the first time in 20 years that we had gone there. We ususally went to Rockville or Mansfield. Bridgeton was the BEST!! I told some friends just the other day that we would have to go back there this year but didn't know the dates. Not only do these busses add to the crowding, but they emit diesel fumes and stir up a lot of additional dust! See y'all during the week of October 12-16.

Every year I come with a bunch of girlfriends to shop at the Covered Bridge Festival and we love it. The only complaint I have is not enough bathrooms! Please note times of festivals, best times to come what are the regular hours of service. I am from the south for the last 14 yrs though in my youth I lived near there I do not remember when the leaves are in best colour. Could you have a color predictor guage?

We used to visit during the covered bridge festival from 1970-1980, however, due to family schedules & increased crowds, we visit during slower seasons. I'm glad to know I can find out what's happening through your WEB site. Keep up the good work.

I just want to let you know how much I enjoyed coming to your Covered Bridge Festival on Friday, 16OCT98. What a beautiful day. I played basketball at the Bridgeton School in 1961 and I had no idea the building was still in existance. I enjoyed so very much the opportunity to walk in that old gymnasium once again. We were to your covered bridge festival last weekend and really enjoyed it. The reason I accessed your Web Site was to see the history of your town, but you just mention how old you are. For one thing, we were wondering why people built covered bridges, what nationalities settled there and what attracted them, (we did see an Amish family), what is your main crop (corn, beans?), etc.

I have been visiting during Covered Bridge Festival for over 30 years, and have also been fortunate enough to visit during totally "off-season". Your peopel are so welcoming at any time of year. I have heard comments that you have grown too much during Festival, and that too many "flea market" booths are set up. In one way I, too, wish we could go back to the simpler days of 30 years past. But there is so much more to Bridgeton and the entire area. It's history is so evident. Also I am wise enough to know things must change. So after saying that, I wish to extend to you and your residents my thanks for 36 years of pleasure. I hope to continue my visits for may years to come.
